Red: Sarawak at Sands Singapore

Sibu born, Sibu bred.
Sorry, but I like the Kampua mee.
I have been away since 1973,
I lament for the flat dry noodles.

As a primary school kid,
We went across the road.
I used to buy the kosong/ "empty" noodles.
For 30 cents, it was my lunch.

Each time, I returned for a visit,
Friends took me out to eat kampua.
The noodles were never the same.
As that 30 cents plate of noodles.

I was at Sands food court in Singapore
Sarawak Kuching Kolo mee caught my eye.
They seem to do a roaring business.
Alas, it is not the Sibu Kampua that I yearn for.
